Holly Holm Vs Ji Yeon Kim Targeted For UFC Fight Night 111

A fight between Holly Holm and newcomer Ji Yeon Kim has been targeted for UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore on June 17th.

That’s the word according to Holm’s manager Lenny Fresquez who told the Alberquerque Journal that the fight has been discussed, but not yet accepted.

If true that would appear to be something of a softball for the former bantamweight champion, who has gone three fights without a win, starting with losing the title to Miesha Tate, then losing to Valentina Shevchenko by decision and also coming away empty-handed in a featherweight title challenge against Germaine De Randamie.

That’s a big fall from grace in a relatively short period of time for ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’, who gained worldwide media attention when she became the first woman to defeat dominant champion Ronda Rousey just a year and a half ago.

Based on her recent level of competition, the debuting Kim would appear to be a step down in competition for Holm, though the 27-year-old South Korean is a promising prospect who brings an unbeaten 6-0-2 record to the Octagon, having fought for respected Asian promotions like Deep and Road FC.

Holm Vs Kim is currently the only fight so far that’s been linked to the UFC Fight Night 111 card.
