Holly Holm vs. Yana Kunitskaya Booked For UFC On ESPN 43 In March

A women’s bantamweight fight between Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya has been booked for UFC On ESPN 43 on March 25th in San Antonio, Texas.

Known as ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’, former bantamweight champion Holm fought only once in 2022, suffering a split decision loss to Ketlen Vieira in May.

That had been the 41-year-old’s first fight in over a year-and-a-half after a kidney issue forced her out of action for an extended period back in 2020 at a time when she had been coming off back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana.

As for the 33-year-old Kunitskaya, her last fight was way back in July of 2021, where she was TKO’d in the first round by Irene Aldana.

Before that Kunitskaya had won two-in-a-row against Julija Stoliarenko and Ketlen Vieira on the scorecards, all of which leaves her ranked No.6 in the 135lb division heading into this fight with Holm, who is placed at No.3.

Holm vs. Kunitskaya joins a UFC On ESPN 43 event that doesn’t yet have a confirmed headliner, but will also feature Maycee Barber vs. Andrea Lee and Chidi Njokuani vs. Albert Duraev.
