Jared Cannonier left Jack Hermansson stunned tonight at UFC Fight Night 160 after catching him with a punch that dropped him early in the second round and then TKO’ing him with follow-up ground and pound on the mat.
Round One:
The main event is underway in Copenhagen.
Hard leg kick from Hermannson to start and then another. Very aggressive start from him, but the ref stops thinking there was a groin strike. Cannonier’s ok to continue though so they are straight back to it.
Hermansson in on a takedown now and he’s working hard for it, but Cannonier is able to defend and get back to striking range.
Hermansson goes for a takedown again, spins around to the back and looks for the suplex and has Cannonier’s back here.
Cannonier able to stand again and works to the clinch. Hermansson with a throw, but unable to keep Cannonier down.
Right hand for Cannonier. Leg kick for Hermansson. Takedown attempt from Hermansson, but Cannonier stuffs it.
Leg kicks exchanged. Hermansson landing hard to the leg here. Punches for Cannonier and Hermansson throws a counter. Cannonier with a leg kick that unsettles his opponent’s balance.
Jab for Cannonier. Hermansson steps into a knee to the body. Leg kick for Hermansson and a punch behind it.
Hermansson with the jab. Chopping leg kick for Cannonier. Body kick for Hermansson. Inside leg kick for Cannonier now. Another leg kick from Cannonier and Hermansson didn’t like that.
Round Two:
Leg kick for Hermansson to start the second. Another leg kick is checked. Hermansson attemps a takedown and gets hit and hurt, falling to the mat stunned.
Cannonier starts blasting him with big ground and pound and Hermansson can only cover up as these thunderous blows hammer him and the ref finally decides enough is enough and hands him a big upset TKO victory.
