Joe Pyfer’s next fight will be against Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 303 on June 29th during International Fight Week in Las Vegas.
A recruit from the Contender Series, the 27-year-old Pyfer made an immediate impact in the Octagon when he we went on a destructive three-fight winning streak.
That began with two first-round TKO finishes against Allen Amedovski and Gerald Meerschaert, followed by a submission win over Abdul Razak Alhassan.
However, Pyfer’s hype train took a hit back in February when he was convincingly beaten on the scorecards by Jack Hermansson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 236.
Now Pyfer will attempt to get back to winning ways against the 34-year-old Barriault, who is also coming off a loss, having come out on the wrong side of a split-decision verdict against Chris Curtis at UFC 297 in January.
However, before that Barriault did manage to go 2-0 during his 2023 campaign with a TKO finish of Julian Marquez being followed up by a unanimous decision victory against Eryk Anders.
Pyfer vs. Barriault gets added to a UFC 303 card that will be headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, while Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr, Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Macy Chiasson and Cub Swason vs. Andre Fili have also been officially confirmed for the event.
