After Jon Jones was arrested for domestic violence back in September, his long-time coach Mike Winkeljohn came out publicly to state that enough was enough and that the troubled fighter had been temporarily banned from the Jackson-Wink gym.
Jones didn’t have much to say about it at the time and has since opted to permanently step away from that facility in order to go back to another Jackson-affiliated gym where he continues to train with many of the same coaches he used to, but judging by his latest Twitter rant he’s still seething about the split.
“Coach Wink gets on national TV and tells the world he wants the best for me, and then behind the scenes harassing the other coaches for continuing to work with me,” Jones initially wrote. “What a miserable b*stard.
“I didn’t leave the gym because I couldn’t handle a punishment, I left the gym because I wasn’t training with Wink anymore anyway. This man hasn’t taught the students a new technique since I met him.
“This dude has somehow found a way to run away every single one of Greg’s original fighters. I can’t think of a Jackson’s veteran who still talks to this ass whole.
“What type of friend goes on national TV and airs his “brother’s” dirty laundry. That was his opportunity to take a moral high ground over someone who trust in him. He didn’t give two shits what actually happened that night. Anything anything for some publicity.
“If I was such a monster he wouldn’t be still trying to monetize off me being a former student there. There’s a Jon Jones poster in almost every wall in that building.
“Wink suspending me from the team has changed absolutely nothing for me. I’m still working with the same exact coaches on the same exact schedule we have been on over the last two years.”
“We literally had a convicted rapist training on the team for years and now all of a sudden he was morals. Get out of here.”
