Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos will welcome Blagoy Ivanov to the Octagon in the main event of UFC Fight Night 133 in Boise, Idaho on July 14th.
Dos Santos will be returning to action for the first time in over a year after an unsuccessful attempt to take the title from Stipe Miocic at UFC 211 back in May of 2017, which ended in a first round TKO.
Prior to that the 34-year-old JDS had earned a unanimous decision victory over Ben Rothwell, continuing a theme of alternating between wins and losses that dates back to 2012, leaving him with a 4-4 record during that period.
Now he goes up against newcomer Ivanov, who is a former WSOF heavyweight champion, going four fights undefeated for the the promotion before it rebranded to the PFL, where he notched up another victory as champion ahead of his move to the UFC.
Ivanov is also a Bellator veteran and reached the final of their season 10 heavyweight tournament before losing to Alexander Volkov, which remains the only defeat of his 18-fight career to date.
Dos Santos Vs Ivanov headlines a UFC Fight Night 133 card that will mark the UFC’s first ever trip to Idaho and will air on FOX Sports 1.
