Justin Gaethje dropped Donald Cerrone twice with right hooks on his way to a first round TKO Victory tonight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 158.
Round One:
The main event is underway in Vancouver.
Leg kick for Gaethje after Cerrone misses a push kick. Another leg kick for Gaethje. He misses with another.
Again the chopping leg kick. Now a left hook for Gaethje. Back to the leg kick then a big punch that whistles over the ducking Cerrone.
Straight punches for Cerrone. Now a push kick. Leg kick for Gaethje. He lands a punch and then follows it up with a hook.
Front kick to the body from Cerrone just grazes the target. One-two for Cerrone and then a counter punch from Gaethje.
Cerrone with a left hand. Body punch for Gaethje. In close Gaethje lands a brief flurry of punches. Again they exchange in close and Gaethje goes back to the leg kick attack.
Inside leg kick for Cerrone. Three-piece combo from ‘Cowboy’. Two hooks lands for Gaethje. Body kick flashes out from Cerrone.
Good uppercut on the end of a combination from Gaethje. Another punch lands. In close Gaethje again connects with the uppercut.
Cerrone comes in and Gaethje counters with a grazing hook. Then a big right hook drops Cerrone to his knees. As he tries to rise Gaethje blasts him again with uppercuts and then another bomb of a right hand that puts him back down on his knees looking dazed and confused.
Gaethje feels the fight is over, but the ref isn’t ready to stop it just yet so he lands again. Cerrone’s not defending himself at all and so that’s it, the ref waves the fight off at 4.18mins of round one courtesy of that impressive TKO by ‘The Highlight.’
