Karine Silva made a dream start to her UFC career today at UFC Fight Night 207 with a first round submission finish over Poliana Botelho.

Round One:

Front kick to the body from Silva to start and Botelho lands a leg kick. Another front kick to the midsection for Silva. Front kick from Botelho too now.

Left hand lands for Botelho. Silva comes up short with a head kick and Botelho lands a leg kick. Both look to land that front kick at the same time. Punch for Botelho and then she gets that front kick through to the body.

High kick from Silva and then one to the thigh. A few strikes out of range from Silva. Nice left hand for Botelho and a kick from Silva.

Body kick for Silva. She lands a right hand over the top too. Leg kick for Silva as Botelho was punching to the body.

Botelho looking for an uppercut but doesn’t land it. She lands a leg kick. Again Silva throwing out strikes without quite finding the mark.

Left hook for Botelho. Heavy right hand from Silva and straight into a takedown, then blasts away with several solid punches.

Botelho able to grab hold to stop that onslaught for now. She looks to improve her position, moving to her knees, but Silva counters by going for a d’arce choke submission late in the round and it looks tight, forcing Botelho to tap out just five seconds before the end of the round.
