Kevin Holland will fight Chris Curtis in a middleweight clash at UFC 307 on October 5th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The 31-year-old Holland returned to the 185lb ranks after a two-and-a-half year stint at 170lbs back in June when he took on Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 302, and emerged victorious via a first-round armbar submission.
Holland will now attempt to break back into the middleweight rankings when he goes up against the 37-year-old Curtis, who is currently holding down the No.15 spot on the 185lb ladder.
Curtis is coming off a split-decision loss to Brendan Allen back in April, but had came out on the right end of a split-decision verdict against Marc-Andre Barriault in January.
That leaves Curtis with an overall record of 5-3 (+1nc) in the UFC’s middleweight division, while over the course of his 6-year stint in the promotion Holland has gone 9-4 (+1nc) at 185lbs.
Holland vs. Curtis joins a UFC 307 card that currently has one title fight attached to it, with women’s bantamweight champ Raquel Pennington set to fight former titleholder Julianna Pena, while Movsar Evloev will go up against former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling.
