Laureano Staropoli Has Been Released From UFC

Argentinian fighter Laurenao Staropoli has been released from the UFC after his latest loss at UFC 267 on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old Staropoli picked up a unanimous decision loss against Jamie Pickett at the Fight Island event, and that marked his fourth straight defeat in a row on the scorecards, with Roman Dolidze, Tim Means and Muslim Salakhov all having got the better of him in the eyes of the judges.

It’s a disappointing couple of years for Staropoli after having started brightly in the UFC with decision wins against Hector Aldana and Thiago Alves following a 7-1 run on the regional circuit.

‘Pepi’ has accepted the UFC’s decision to cut him from the roster, but it seems he still has ambitions to fight his way back to the Octagon if he can get back to winning ways in the near future.

It’s a plan that involves dropping back down to welterweight, signing with another promotion and then, “beat everybody up, enter [the UFC] again and become the f*cking champion.”
