Rising star Mackenzie Dern will quickly return to action against Amanda Cooper at UFC 224 on May 12th in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The 24-year-old Dern only made her UFC debut at UFC 222 earlier this month, defeating Ashley Yoder by split decision to take her unbeaten MMA record to 6-0.
Now she is already on the verge of signing up for her next Octagon encounter, which will give her a chance to fight in Brazil for the first time, which is like a second home for Dern since her father, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu star Wellington ‘Megaton’ Dias is Brazilian and she spent much of her childhood travelling back and forth between there and her home in Arizona.
Standing opposite her in the cage this time around will be the 26-year-old Cooper, who has had mixed results in the UFC so far, going 2-2 to date.
During her 2017 campaign, Cooper suffered a submission loss to Cynthia Calvillo, but last time out she emerged with a second round TKO victory over Angela Magana.
Dern Vs Cooper hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but would be joining a rapdily building UFC 224 card that will be headlined by women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, who is set to fight Raquel ‘Rocky’ Pennington.
