Women’s flyweight fighter’s Maycee Barber and Alexa Grasso will fight at UFC Fight Night 190 on February 13th.
Known as ‘The Future’, Barber got off to a great start in the UFC with three TKO victories in a row, taking her overall record to 8-0, but in January of this year she unexpectedly came unstuck against Roxanne Modafferi, who beat her by unanimous decision.
Afterwards Barber confirmed that she had suffered a complete tear of her ACL in the opening round of the fight and had to go for surgery on her knee, which has kept her out of action for a year.
Now she’ll return to fight Grasso, who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ji Yeon Kim in her 125lb debut back in August.
Like Barber, there were high hopes for Grasso when she first joined the UFC, but she found the strawweight division to be a tough nut to crack, only managing a 3-3 run, before the switch up in weight that she hopes will lead to her finding her best form.
So far Barber vs. Grasso is the only fight booked for UFC Fight Night 190, which is yet to have a confirmed location, but is expected to be in either Las Vegas or at Fight Island.
