Retired UFC star turned colour commentator and analyst Michael Bisping is broadening his horizons beyond just MMA by landing a gig on Netflix’s new car show, ‘Hypderdrive,’ which is now streaming on the site.
The former UFC middleweight champion features as one of the co-host’s for the series, which sees contestants being put through their paces in spectacular car-based stunts and challenges.
Movie star Charlize Theron was one of the producers for the show and also just happens to be an MMA fan, although whether that’s how Bisping landed the gig or not is unclear.
“I’ve been wanting to do a reality/competition project for a while, and when I heard about this concept I thought there was truly nothing on TV like it,” Theron told hypbeast.com. “It combines my love of cars and competition while maintaining that human element that I love about reality TV.”
It’s not the first time a UFC fighter turned commentator has landed such a role, as a few years ago Kenny Florian scored a gig as a commentator for a reboot of the ‘Battlebots’ show on ABC and continues to do so for the current season on Discovery.
