Michael Morales Defeats Trevin Giles By TKO In 1st Round At UFC 270

Contender Series recruit Michael Morales made an immediate impression in the Octagon tonight at UFC 270 and maintained his unbeaten record with a first round TKO victory over Trevin Giles.

Round One:

Giles with a heavy calf kick to start. He lands it again. Now a third one. Now Morales lands one of his own. Giles lands his again and then follows up with a hard jab down the pipe that stuns his opponent for a moment, then clinches up.

Giles looking for a trip now, but nothing doing for now and Morales is getting some time to recover. However, then Giles manages to work a takedown and is immediately looking for an arm triangle.

They roll and Giles ends up on his back while still trying for the arm triangle. Giles abandons that and tries for an armbar, but isn’t able to get that and they scramble back to the feet.

Now it’s Morales pressing Giles into the cage, but then they opt to seperate. Morales steps in and lands a leg kick.

Calf kick for Morales. Jab for Giles. Swing and a miss from Morales. Stepping jab for Giles. Body kick from him. Giles lunges in with punches, but gets clipped with a counter punch and and uppercut that leaves him rocked.

Giles doing his best to survive here, but as they exchange again Morales catches him with another power punch that drops him. Giles goes into a defensive shell on the mat as more blows rain down on him and that’s it, Morales secures a TKO victory at the 4.06min mark of the opening round!
