Mirko Cro Cop Joins Bellator; Fights Roy Nelson At 200th Event

Bellator 200 will be the stage for the return of heavyweight legend Mirko Cro Cop against Roy Nelson.

Cro Cop has signed for Bellator despite the fact that he’s indicated that he intends to retire at the end of the year after competing on Rizin’s New Years Eve event.

The 43-year-old Croatian star is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak that includes becoming Rizin’s openweight grand-prix champion in 2016.

However, during that run Cro Cop also saw his UFC contract terminated after he was flagged by USADA and confessed that he’d used human growth hormone, leading a two-year suspension (which he circumnaviagated by fighting in Japan).

Back in the present day he’ll now go up against the 41-year-old Nelson, who is looking to get over the disappointment of losing out by majority decision to Matt Mitrione in Bellator’s 2018 heavyweight grand-prix quarter-finals earlier this month.

Nelson’s record over the past few years now stands at just 4-8, compiled while competing mostly in the UFC, before opting to jump ship to Bellator when his contract expired last year.

Cro Cop Vs Nelson joins a Bellator 200 card in London, England on May 25th thats set to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between current champion Rafael Carvalho and Gegard Mousasi.
