UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich has been forced out of her upcoming fight with Paige VanZant at UFC On ESPN+ 1 on January 19th after suffering major injuries in an incident that is currently being investigated as domestic violence.

Ostovich is believed to have suffered a broken orbital bone during the incident, and according to Honolulu police, a second-degree felony investigation is underway, though as things stand no charges have been pressed so far.

“A very unfortunate incident occurred Sunday night with Rachael Ostovich that ended with her suffering a fractured orbital and other injuries,” a statement from Ostovich’s management SuckerPunch Entertainment reads. “As a result of these injuries she will not be able to compete in her upcoming bout with Paige VanZant on January 19th. Rachael is now home from the hospital with her family and will be going back for further check ups on her orbital. The family would like to ask for some privacy as they sort through this matter. We would like to thank the UFC for all their support on this matter as well as the fans and media for your concern.”

The 27-year-old Ostovich reached the quarter-finals of The Ultimate Fighter 26 and has since fought twice in the UFC, going 1-1 so far.
