Rachael Ostovich Released By UFC After Latest Loss

Dana White warned at the weekend that Yoel Romero was just the first of many fighters who would be getting cut from the UFC in the coming weeks, and next on the list is Rachael Ostovich.

Truth be told, Ostovich’s release comes as no surprise as the former TUF 26 competitor has found it tough to make her mark in the Octagon during her four-fight stint in the UFC.

The 29-year-old Ostovich only came to the promotion with a 3-3 career record, but she made an impact in her UFC debut by submitting Karine Gevorgyan in less than two minutes.

However, that proved to be her only win in the UFC as she’s gone on to be submitted by both Montana De La Rosa and Paige VanZant, while Gina Mazany TKO’d her in the third round of their fight a couple of weeks ago.

Ostovich had herself predicted that if she lost her latest fight then she’d be released and indeed that’s how things have gone, but her striking looks have attracted a lot of fans during her UFC run and so she is looking on the bright side as she contemplates what comes next.

“Sixty other cuts but little old me, making news on my way out,” Ostovich told her 750,000+ Instagram followers. “One thing I’ve learned is that even bad publicity is good publicity. We keep moving. Grateful for it all.

“Knees are still busted from my fight, along with other bruises all over my body.

“Definitely getting stares this past week. What’s new? Even the strongest blizzards start with a single snowflake. Every end is a new beginning.”
