Raphael Assuncao Vs Marlon Moraes Rematch Set For UFC On ESPN+ 2

A rematch between two of the bantamweight division’s top contenders Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes have been set to headlined UFC On ESPN+ 2 on February 2nd in Forteleza, Brazil.

The two first met at UFC 212 in June of 2017, with Assuncao emerging victorious on that occasion via split decision, but with the two remaining on top of their game since it was only a matter of times before they locked horns again in the Octagon.

Since their 2017 meeting Assuncao has clocked up another two victories over Matthew Lopez and Rob Font, leaving him with an impressive record of 11 wins from his last 12 fights. His only loss during that period came against current champion TJ Dillashaw, though he does hold a prior win over the star.

Meanwhile, Moraes has also been in great form since their last outing, racking up three high-profile wins against John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling and Jimmie Rivera, the latter two coming by way of knockout.

Prior to that Moraes was WSOF’s long reigning bantamweight champ and successfully defended his title on five seperate occasions.

Assuncao and Moraes will top the bill on the ESPN+ card, which is still in the early stages of being put together, but will also feature a fight between Thiago Alves and Max Griffin.
