Teenage star Raul Rosas Jr’s next fight will be against Terrence Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 227 on September 16th in Las Vegas.
The 18-year-old first emerged via a win on the Contender Series, where he impressed with his ability and composure for his age, leading to him becoming the promotion’s youngest ever signing.
Rosas Jr went on to win in his promotional debut late last year with a first round submission finish against Jay Perrin. However, there were signs that the youngster is still a work-in-progress last time out when Christian Rodrigues beat him by unanimous decision.
Now Rosas Jr will be going up against the 33-year-old Mitchell, who came into the UFC this year off an 11-fight winning streak on the regional circuit.
However, Mitchell’s debut last month brought a hasty end to that streak as he was TKO’d by Cameron Saaiman mid-way through the first round.
Rosas Jr vs. Mitchell joins a UFC Fight Night 227 event that’s set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a women’s flyweight title rematch between new titleholder Alex Grasso and former long-time champ Valentina Shevchenko, with Kevin Holland vs. Jack Della Maddalena rumored to be in the works as the co-main event.
