Sara McMann Announces That She’s Pregnant

Former UFC bantamweight title contender Sara McMann has announced that she’s pregnant, and as you might imagine that means she won’t be back in the Octagon for quite some time!

““I’ve been dying to tell the world,” McMan wrote on Instagram. “The short story: Chad and I started trying after my last fight and that SOB knocked me up immediately – I’m twelve weeks along! The long version: I’ve had bad shoulder injuries my last two fights (torn labrum and rotator cuffs in BOTH shoulders). I have to take time off to get healthy no matter what. I’m 37 and I’m getting too close to the time of possibly not being able to conceive. We decided that it was the right time in all aspects.”

However, the former Olympic wrestling silver medalist has indicated that she does intend to return to her fighting career in due course.

“So, yes I will still be fighting. My body handles pregnancy very well and I am training thru the majority of it. Thanks to everyone who is happy for our happiness.”

Mcmann, who already has a daughter named Bella, has had a tough time in the Octagon of late, suffering two submission losses in a row, leaving her with an overall 5-5 record in the UFC.
