Stephen Thompson vs. Geoff Neal Targeted For UFC Fight Night 186

Stephen Wonderboy Thompson

Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson will step back into the Octagon against Geoff Neal at UFC Fight Night 186 on December 19th.

This will be Thompson’s only fight in 2020, with his last outing being a unanimous decision victory over Vicente Luque back in November of last year.

That was a welcome return to the win column for the former two-time welterweight title contender, who had only picked up a single victory and a draw from his previous five Octagon outings against Jorge Masvidal and Tyron Woodley respectively, while also suffering his first ever KO loss during that period against Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis.

Now the No.5 ranked Thompson will come back to fight the No.11 placed Neal, who is on the rise after winning all five of his UFC fights to date since joining from the Contender Series back in 2017.

Along the way Neal has secured wins over notable fighters like Belal Muhammad, Niko Price and Mike Perry, the latter two of which he finished by way of TKO.

Thompson vs. Neal joins a UFC Fight Night 186 card that is likely to be headlined by a fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards along with a notable bout between Marlon Moraes vs. Rob Font.
