Tatiana Suarez’s next fight will be against Virna Jandiroba at UFC Fight Night 225 on August 5th at a destination still to be confirmed at this stage.
A former TUF champion, Suarez looked like a potential title contender when she went on a five-fight winning streak at the start of her UFC run, beating the likes of Alexa Grasso, Carla Esparza and Nina Nunes along the way.
However, major injury troubles then kept Suarez out of action for nearly four years, so it wasn’t clear if the now 32-year-old would be able to replicate that form when she finally returned to action against Montana De La Rosa in February of this year.
All signs suggest that Suarez is still a serious force to be reckoned with though as she would go on to submit De La Rosa in the second round.
Now Suarez will take on a former Invicta FC strawweight champion in the 34-year-old Jandiroba, who is coming off two decision victories in a row over Angela Hill and Marina Rodriguez in the past 12 months.
That leaves Jandiroba’s overall UFC record at 5-3 and she currently holds the No.6 spot in the strawweight division, four notches above the 10th placed Suarez.
