UFC 221 Weigh-In Results – Yoel Romero Fails To Make 185lbs

There was high drama at the UFC 221 weigh-ins in Perth, Australia as Yoel Romero failed to make weight for his middleweight interim title fight with Luke Rockhold.

Romero initially weighed in at 188.3lbs, but then had an additional two hours to drop to the 185lbs limit.

However, on the second attempt the Cuban fighter came in at 187.7lbs, some 3.7lbs overweight, and though Luke Rockhold has since agreed to still fight him, the official ruling is that Romero is no longer eligible to win the interim belt tonight, even if he defeats his opponent.

“Should have be doing the salsa in the sauna,” Rockhold said on Twitter afterwards. “Some bullshit as usual.”

That aside, the rest of the weigh-ins took place without a hitch and you can see what all the fighters tipped the scales at below.
