The official salaries for UFC 229 have been released and show that both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are banking millions of dollars as a basic salary for this evening’s showdown in Las Vegas.
Conor McGregor will be taking home a $3 million basic salary as he did for his second fight with Nate Diaz, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for ‘The Notorious’, who is due to significant cut of the pay-per-venue for what’s predicted to be the biggest event in UFC history, which he himself ha estimated could leave him with a total payout in the region of $50 million.
Meawhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov will earn by far his biggest ever payday, taking home a $2 million salary and as the champion he will also get a cut of the extremely lucrative PPV revenue.
The payscale drops drastically after that, with Tony Ferguson trousering a guaranteed $150,000 cheque for his co-main event fight with Anthony Pettis who banks $145,000 to show and a further $145,000 if he wins.
Derrick Lewis will bolster his bank balance to the tune of $135,000, with a further $135,000 if he emerges victorious, while his opponent Alexander Volkov will get $75,000 to show. $75,000 to win.
