Following last night’s UFC 239 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On a night stacked with stunning finishes the UFC opted not to give out a ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonus and instead went with four ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards instead.
Earning one performance bonus was obviously Jorge Masvidal who racked up not only the fastest KO in UFC history at just 5 seconds, but also one of the most spectacular and devastating, courtesy of a flying knee that knocked Ben Askren out stone cold for several minutes.
Amanda Nunes also produced fireworks late in the first round of her co-main event bantamweight title defense against Holly Holm, catching her off-guard with a hard head kick to the face and then follow-up punches on the mat for a TKO finish.
Jan Blachowicz claimed his performance bonus by handing Luke Rockhold a rude awakening to the light-heavyweight division in the second round, blasting him with a left hook that dropped him and reportedly broke his jaw, with a few ground and pound blows sealing the knockout.
The final performance bonus on the night went to 21-year-old Song Yadong who knocked out Alejandro Perez with a right hand with 2.04mins on the clock in the prelims.
