The full fight card for UFC 249 on April 18th has now been unveiled, and there’s still some big match-ups on the line-up despite the promotion having to battle against unprecedented issues due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The revised headliner for the card sees interim lightweight title action as Tony Ferguson brings his formidable 12-fight winning streak to the Octagon against one of the UFC’s most violent strikers, Justin Gaethje, who steps in for lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov on short notice.
The co-main event for the card remains unchanged and sees a rematch between former strawweight champions Jessica Andrade and Rose namajunas, with Andrade having emerged victorious in their first encounter via a slam KO.
Coming off a decision loss to Alexander Yakov last time out, Greg Hardy now returns to the Octagon to face a fellow Contender Series product Yorgan De Castro, who picked up a first round KO victory in his promotional debut last time out.
Vicente Luque and Niko Price have fought before back in 2017, with Luque emerging with the win via submission and now they are set to go at it again, this time with Luque coming off a loss to Stephen Thompson, while Price secured a KO stoppage against James Vick.
Opening up the main card will be Jeremy Stephens, who is winless in his last four fights and now faces Kalvin Kattar, who lost to Zabit Magomedsharipov last time out.
