UFC 259 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 259 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Despite a star-studded main card it was the prelim fighters that seized all the awards on this occasion, starting with Kennedy Nzechukwu and Carlos Ulberg seizing ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors.

Ulberg took the fight to Nzechukwu early with a barrage of blows, but the ‘African Savage’ kept his cool and then turned the screw mid-way through the second round when he KO’d his opponent with a heavy right-hander.

One of two ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses was handed to Kai Kara-France, who had to weather an early storm on the mat as Rogerio Bontorin took his back and fished for submissions, but in the dying seconds of the round Kara-France was able to let fly with his right hand and KO his opponent.

Also scooping up a bonus award was Uros Medic, who stunned Aalon Cruz with a left hook and flying knee in the opening round and followed up with more strikes to secure a TKO stoppage only 100 seconds into the fight.
