Following last night’s UFC 294 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
The UFC brass decided to go with four ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards this time around, with lightweight champion Islam Makhachev claiming one after his stunning 1st round head kick KO of Alexander Volkanovski in their short-notice main event rematch.
Ikram Aliskerov also earned a performance bonus after he impressed with a first round finish against Warlley Alves, initially staggering him with a jab, then following up shortly afterwards with a perfectly executed flying knee, enabling him to then blast his stunned opponent with a barrage of punches against the cage to secure the TKO victory.
Said Nurmagomedov punished Muin Gafarov for a takedown attempt in the first minute of their main card opener when he countered with a standing guillotine choke and finished it on the mat, with his opponent going to sleep just after tapping out.
The final performance bonus went to prelim fighter Muhammad Mokaev, who found himself in a competitive fight with Tim Elliott that would eventually result in him delivering a third-round arm-triangle choke finish.
