UFC 330 Bonus Awards

UFC 330 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 330 event the recipients of the $100,000 bonus awards were announced.

Four performance bonuses were dished out on this occasion, including one for Jalin Turner, who took just 39 seconds to KO Kaue Fernandes on the main card after connecting with an uppercut that put his opponent down, followed by a brief barrage of ground-and-pound to seal the deal.

Dustin Stoltzfus shook off his underdog status with a gritty display of heart and determination against Mansur Abdul-Malik, to earn a win and bonus. The fight looked like it could go either way, but mid-way through the second round Stoltzfus really started to up his intensity on the feet and was then able to get a takedown, land some ground-and-pound and then seize upon a rear-naked choke finish.

Charles Johnson also earned a performance bonus after he left it late to finally get the better of late replacement Eduardo Chapolin. Johnson delivered his finish in style though by executing the rarely seen ‘Scottish Twister’ submission during the third round.

And finally, Jeremiah Wells also took home an extra $100,000 after he lost the first two rounds of his fight against Myktybek Orolbai, only to then deliver a big upset by catching his opponent in a guillotine choke as he was going for a takedown to render him unconscious.
