UFC Fight Night 135 Draws Lowest Saturday Night Audience On FOX Sports 1

UFC Fight Night 135 drew an average of just 596,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1 this past Saturday night.

Unfortunately, that marks a new low point for the UFC of FOX Sports 1, marking it as the lowest audience ever for a regular Saturday night event, beating out TUF Brazil 3 Finale headlined by Stipe Miocic and Fabio Maldonado back in 2014 which drew 609,000 viewers.

The event was headlined by a fight that looked like it would bring guaranteed fireworks as Justin Gaethje squared off against James Vick, but perhaps the lack of name recognition of the two fighters in comparison to some of the UFC’s more established stars ended up hurting them.

That’s a shame as Gaethje has quickly cemented himself as one of the UFC’s most entertaining fighters and he was in fine form on the night, putting an end to Vick’s night via KO early in the first round.

Still, the numbers don’t lie, and the audience on Saturday night actually peaked during the co-main event between Deiveson Figueredo and John Moraga, coming in at 668,000 viewers, although it’s worth noting tht that main event didn’t start until after 12.30am.
