UFC Fight Night 211 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 211 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

Fight Of The Night honors went to a bout between Daniel Santos and John Castaneda, which was originally scheduled to feature on the main card, but was dropped down to front the prelims after another bout was cancelled.

In the opening round it was Castaneda who had control of the stand-up action and he had Santos hurt several times, but he survived and then dished out payback in the second round, leading to a big knee upstairs from the clinch that sunk his opponent to the mat for a KO finish.

Brendan Allen earned one of four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses after he was able to outgrapple Krzysztof Jotko, locking in a rear-naked choke finish late in the opening round.

Chelsea Handler got her UFC career off to a great start as she swiftly took down Julija Stoliarenko and dominated on top to deliver a ground-and-pound finish before the end of the opening round.

Guido Cannetti also secured a performance bonus after he delivered big leg kicks against Randy Costa and then when his opponent slipped he was able to get to his back and sink in a rear-naked choke finish only 64 seconds into the fight.

Finally, Joaquim Silva also took home a bonus award after first landing a big knee strike late in the opening round that had Jesse Ronson in trouble, only to then land another knee in the second round that would lead to a TKO stoppage via ground-and-pound.
