Following last night’s UFC On ESPN 5 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
A preliminary card fight between Antonina Shevchenko and Lucie Pudilova earned ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors on this occasion after putting on an entertaining fight on the feet and particularly on the mat.
In the first round Shevchenko managed to catch Pudilova in an armbar, but she was able to escape, only to then be caught in a guillotine choke submission in the second round.
Meanwhile, Nasrat Haqparast earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus after he engaged in a competitive fight with Joaquim Silva up until he connected with a thunderous overhand left in the second round that sent his opponent slamming backwards onto the mat, with follow-up punches sealing the knockout victory.
Earlier in the evening Matt Schnell secured his performance bonus after taking just 83 seconds to submit Jordan Espinosa with a triangle choke submission.
