Saturday night’s UFC On FOX 28 event drew an average of 2,037,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1.
Though that marks it as the fourth least watched ‘UFC On FOX’ show in the history of the series, it’s actually an improvement on last month’s UFC On FOX 27 show, which only drew an all-time low 1,770,000 viewers.
Furthermore, this was a card that many people were predicting would bomb in the ratings department given that there was a lack of a big draw in the main event, where Jeremy Stephens fought Josh Emmett, and other main card bouts like Jessica Andrade Vs Tecia Torres and Ilir Latifi Vs Ovince Saint Preux that appeared to have very little traction heading into the weekend.
With that in mind the event has exceeded expectations to an extent, and the peak rating of 2,731,000 viewers during the headliner seems fairly respectible under the circumstances.
It’s also worth noting that the preliminary card pulled in 1,216,000 viewers, the best lead-in to a main card of this kind since ‘UFC On FOX 20’ back in July of 2016.
The prelims did have a reasonable line-up of fighters though, including former bantamweight champion Renan Barao fighting Brian Kelleher, Sara McMann Vs Marion Reneau and Alan Jouban Vs Ben Saunders.
