Umar Nurmagomedov KO’d Raoni Barcelos late in the first round out tonight at UFC Fight Night 217.
Round One:
Nurmagomedov tries for a push kick from range but misses. He feels out with another kick. Barcelos closes the distance with a couple of punches.
Leg kicks and a push kick from Nurmagomedov. Now Barcelos with a big kick of his own.
Right hook lands for Nurmagomedov. Now a push kick and then one to the inside of the leg. Nice jab for Nurmagomedov.
Body kick from Barcelos. He lands to the outside of the leg too. Another body kick from Barcelos, landing high.
In close for a moment Barcelos fires off a few punches but doesn’t connect cleanly. Barcelos wades in throwing but missing as Umar ducks and looks for a counter punch.
A brief clash of heads in close but they are both ok. Push kicks from Nurmagomedov. Body kick for Barcelos. Nurmagomedov lands a ab.
Inside leg kick from Nurmagomedov after a blocked head kick attempt. left hand lands for him. Kick to the midsection from Barcelos.
Body kick and a leg kick from Nurmagomedov, then a right hand. Suddenly Nurmagomedov bursts into a knee strike that misses, but even before his leg goes back to the canvas he follows up with a left hook that lands clean and KO’s Barcelos, rendering him unconscious at 4.40mins of the opening round!
Wow, that came out of nowhere and knocked Barcelos out cold. What a statement win for the 26-year-old as he improves his record to 16-0.
