Urijah Faber Teases UFC Comeback At 40

Urijah Faber turned 40 earlier this week, but it appears there’s still some fight left in ‘The California Kid’ yet as he’s now teasing the possibility of coming out of retirement to fight at an upcoming UFC event.

“I know my baby is keeping me young…but a good ole fist fight could help the cause…#ufcsacramento on the Horizon @ufc 145 or 135 & who would be fun?” Faber wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of himself alongside his fiance and baby daughter.

It’s been two-and-a-half years since Faber last fought in the Octagon, earning a unanimous decision victory over Brad Pickett.

However, Faber had lost back-to-back fights prior to that against Jimmie Rivera and Dominick Cruz and decided it was time to bring an end to his long career, leading to him being inducted into the Modern Wing of the UFC’s Hall Of Fame a few months later.

Apparently the desire to compete is still there though, but not everybody is enthusiastic about the idea of him getting back into the Octagon.

“Bro your 40… Happy Birthday,” Faber’s friend and teammate Cody Garbrandt wrote in response to his comeback teaser.
