Watch Cris Cyborg Confront Dana White After UFC 240

Cris Cyborg was frustrated enough by Dana White’s repeated comments that she doesn’t want to fight Amanda Nunes that she decided to confront the UFC President backstage after her win over Felicia Spencer at UFC 240 on Saturday night.

Cyborg’s own video blog caught footage of the verbal exchange between the two as Cyborg questioned why he was saying something she is adamant isn’t true.

“You know I text you for the rematch. You know this. Stop lying about it,” Cyborg is heard saying. “What you are saying that I don’t want to fight. You know that I want to fight and I’m not scared.”

“I’m not lying about it,” White replied. “I don’t know if you know how it played out with management and whatever but we want to do that fight. I want to do that fight right now. We’ll get it done.”

What’s said next, or rather what Cyborg’s own youtube channel claims was said next is controversial and potentially misleading.

“Listen, whenever you hearing me saying stuff, I’m not saying….the truth,” is what is written in the subtitles as to what White confided to her in hushed tones, although listening back to it, there doesn’t appear to be any suggestion that White actually said anything about, “the truth.”

Instead this writer’s opinion is that what he actually says is, “Listen, whenever you hear my saying stuff, I’m not saying negative things about it.”

So, the translation seems like a misjudged move on Cyborg’s team’s part, but there’s no doubt that she certainly was within her right to question why White has been saying statements in the media that seem to be completely opposed to what she herself has been saying.
