Earlier today we reported that Paddy Pimblett had noted a big flaw in Jake Paul’s challenge to spar him in that he’s due to fight in the co-main event of UFC 282 next weekend, so now the YouTuber turned boxer has adjusted his offer to make it fit in with the UFC star’s schedule.
“Fella my team told me you have been trying to book me for ur [sic] podcast, Jan 5th,” Paul wrote on Twitter. “So I’m sending you a jet to bring you to Puerto Rico. Both of our teams will film. We spar, 5 rounds and then we can do your podcast. By then you will be back to your normal weight. No excuses.”
Paul had previously said that he’d give Pimblett $1 million if he beats him in a five-round sparring session, while if he loses he has to agree to become a part of Paul’s United Fighter’s Association.
So the ball is now back in Pimblett’s court and given that he had already agreed in principal to the idea, it’s likely he’ll be on-board, even if it is a case of a 155lb grappling-orientated MMA fighter going up against a 185lb boxer with a 3″ height and reach advantage in a boxing-only session.
However, the UFC may well put a spanner in the works as Pimblett is under contract with them and they have strict rules about their fighter’s not being allowed to compete anywhere else.
