Dana White has blasted The Ultimate Fighter’s own production crew for putting season coaches Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler through a gruelling 30-minute ice bath challenge on the show.
McGregor and Chandler both had to sit in ice baths set to a bone-chilling temperature of 39 degrees while competing in a UFC trivia quiz that went on for half-an-hour.
Both men stayed in for the full duration of the challenge, with McGregor emerging as the winner of the quiz, but though he was actually present for it, White has now branded the staff ‘Irresponsible’ for putting the two fighters health at risk.
“I’m going to tell you this it was a huge clusterf*** by the production team that shot this thing,” White told The Mac Life.
“Completely f***ing irresponsible. Completely a s*** show and both of them could have been hurt doing this.
“It was ridiculous what happened during the coaching challenge.
“I did 37 degrees (fahrenheit) in New York for seven minutes, we did two days at six minutes and the last day at seven minutes.
“These guys did this thing for almost 30 minutes. Dangerous, stupid, irresponsible and just completely f***ing ridiculous on the part of the production team.
“I was literally f***ing pissed off about it. Disgusting. Won’t happen again.”
