In a new interview with ‘Inside MMA’, UFC president Dana White discusses his continued battle to overcome the rare inner-ear condition known as ‘Meniere’s Disease’.
For those not familiar with the disease, here’s a medical definition:
“A condition with recurrent vertigo accompanied by ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and deafness. Symptoms include vertigo, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of hearing (in the affected ear), and abnormal eye movements.”
White was hit hard by the disease earlier this year, forcing him to miss a ‘UFC On Fuel TV’ event – the first show he’s missed in over a decade of running the company – and while he’s now back to normal he’s been less involved with things like pre-fight conferences since.
If you’ve been following this story so far then there’s not much new information to be gleaned from this interview – White is still battling with Doctor’s to try to get surgery to help alleviate the symptoms – but if this is your first time hearing about it then this video will help get you up to speed.
