Andrei Arlovski Vs Devin Cole To Headline World Series Of Fighting 1

Originally it was anticipated that Miguel Torres would headline World Series Of Fighting 1, but the company have added a new main event for their November 3rd event which will be aired live on NBC Sports (formerly Versus).

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will now faces Devin Cole in the main event, while Torres will still feature on the card against an as-yet announced opponent.

Arlovski is fresh off a fourth fight with Tim Sylvia at One FC 5 which ended in controversy when he appeared to have TKO’d his rival only for the fight to be declared a no-contest since he kicked him in the head before the referee gave him permission to do so.

Cole courted controversy of a different kind recently when he was lined up as a late replacement for Travis Browne at UFC On FOX 4, only to be then pulled back off the card when officials discovered that he had previously been jailed on sexual assault charges.

Apparently WSOF are more forgiving, and so Arlovski Vs Cole fronts the show, while other notable match-ups include Josh Burkman Vs Gerald Harris and JZ Cavalcante Vs John Gunderson, while Bobby Lashley is also slated to fight.

It’s a solid line-up for a debut offering from a brand-new promotion, but they’ll have to compete directly with Strikeforce who also have a show on the same night which will air live on Showtime.
