The live broadcast of ‘UFC On Fuel TV 6’ event was watched by an average of 88,000 viewers on Saturday according to official figures released today.
While that’s the lowest number rating so far for the Fuel TV series of events it should be stressed that this is due to the fact that it aired in an unusual early morning time slot due to the fact that it was taking place in Macau, China.
The good news for the UFC is that the replay that evening surpassed that figure, pulling in 143,000 viewers, while an additional replay at 1am ET drew an extra 59,000.
The UFC saw a similar trend for ‘UFC On Fuel TV 5’ which aired live from the UK in the afternoon and drew 111,000 viewers with 140,000 then watching the evening replay.
The Fuel TV ratings would be considerably higher if it wasn’t for the fact that the channel is only available in around 36 million homes in the U.S at present, around three times less than the likes of FX and Spike TV.
Since the UFC began regular programming on the channel it’s ratings have increased significantly however and hopefully in the coming year that will lead to more network providers adding it to their packages so that more fans have the opportunity to see the shows.
