Said Nurmagomedov vs. Daniel Santos Announced For UFC 308

A bantamweight fight between Said Nurmagomedov and Daniel Santos has been announced for UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi on October 26th.

The 32-year-old Nurmagomedov will be returning to the Octagon for the first time in 2024, with his last fight being a 1st round guillotine choke submission win over Muin Gafarov at UFC 294 a year ago.

Nurmagomedov, who is no relation to either of his namesakes Khabib or Umar, had picked up a unanimous decision loss to Jonathan Martinez prior to that, but overall he has put together a very solid 7-2 run in the UFC so far.

Now Nurmagomedov will be going up against the 29-year-old Santos, who suffered a unanimous decision loss to Julio Arce in his UFC debut, but has since rebounded with back-to-back victories over John Castenada and Johnny Munoz Jr.

Nurmamagomedov vs. Santos adds extra depth to the UFC 308 card by reinforcing the preliminary card on a night where the headlining attraction will be a featherweight title fight between current champion Ilia Topuria and former kingpin Max Holloway.

The rest of the main card will include a co-main event clash between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev, as well as Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov, Magomed Ankalaev vs. Aleksander Rakic and Shara Magomedov vs. Armen Petrosyan.
