UFC Fight Night 35 Predictions

UFC Fight Night 35 takes place tomorrow night in Atlanta live on FOX Sports 1 and we’ve got our predictions for all the fights below.

Main Card:

Luke Rockhold vs. Constantinos Philippou

Rockhold’s UFC debut against Vitor Belfort may not have gone according to plan, but he’s still a well-rounded fighter who’s worthy of respect and I think he can match Philippou in the stand-up and can gain ground with his superior wrestling and cardio to earn a decision win.

Luke Rockhold to win by decision.

Lorenz Larkin vs. Brad Tavares

Tavares has a good record in the UFC thus far and comes into this fight with a few more tools on his belt compared to his opponent, but Larkin’s definitely the more versatile, dangerous striker of the two and I think he can keep this bout standing and find a late finish here.

Lorenz Larkin to win by TKO in Rd3.

T.J. Dillashaw vs. Mike Easton

Two good fighters here, but I think that overall, Dillashaw is the better of the two. Easton likes to stalk his opponents, but I believe Dillashaw can pick him off from range while also offering up periods of top control on the mat with the occasional submission atttempt thrown in for good measure. Easton might last the distance, but will end up on the wrong side of the scorecards.

TJ Dillashaw to win by decision.

Derek Brunson vs. Yoel Romero

Frankly, Romero is a bit of a beast and bad match-up for Brunson who’s wrestling prowess should be completely nullified by the Olympic medalist, Romero. The Cuban is also every bit as fearsome of a striker as his physique would suggest and I see him handing Brunson an impromptu nap in this encounter.

Yoel Romero to win by KO in Rd2

John Moraga vs. Dustin Ortiz

Moraga might not have been good enough to displace Demetrious Johnson as king of the flyweight division, but I believe between his striking and submission skills he should be enough to take out the resilient Ortiz.

John Moraga to win by submission in Rd2.

Cole Miller vs. Sam Sicilia

Interesting stylistic match-up here with Sicilia being the hard-hitting slugger, while Miller’s scrappy, but does his best work on the mat. If Sicilia can find a home for one of his bombs Miller could be in trouble, but more likely is that Miller gets this fight to the mat and locks up a submission.

Cole Miller to win by submission in Rd1.

Prelims:

Charlie Brenneman vs. Beneil Dariush
Justin Edwards vs. Ramsey Nijem
Elias Silverio vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg
Brian Houston vs. Trevor Smith
Vinc Pichel vs. Garett Whiteley
Alptekin Ozkilic vs. Louis Smolka
