A UFC Fight Night event in Atlantic City on July 16th now has a headline bout with Donald Cerrone set to square off against Jim Miller.
Cerrone has carved out a reputation as one of the most consistently entertaining fighters in the sport as seperate knockout, submission and performance of the night bonuses in his last three fights will attest.
He last fought just a couple of weeks ago at UFC On FOX 11, taking out a potentially tricky opponent in Edson Barboza with a first round rear-naked choke submission, leaving him on a three-fight winning streak.
Meanwhile, Miller is one of the true veterans of the UFC’s lightweight division with 17 fights in the Octagon under his belt and impressively only three losses during that time.
He’s currently undefeated in four fights and looked in top form against Yancy Medeiros last week at UFC 172, securing a first round guillotine choke finish.
Cerrone is currently placed at No.7 on the official lightweight rankings, with Miller close behind at No.9, so both men would be poised to make moves up the ladder if they can emerge victorious.
So far no other fights have been announced for the Atlantic City event, but it’s certainly off to a good start with this match-up.
