A heavyweight clash between Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic is currently under consideration for UFC Fight Night 65 in Adelaide, Australia on May 10th.
The UFC haven’t officially confirmed the match-up yet, but it’s belived the fight would be the main event of the evening and air via the promotion’s Fight Pass subscription service.
Hunt is looking to rebound after losing out in an interim heavyweight title fight to Fabricio Werdum by second round TKO at UFC 160 in November of last year.
Prior to that Hunt had become the first man to knock out Roy Nelson in the UFC, while a majority draw with Antonio Silva and third round KO loss to Junior dos Santos proceeded that.
Despite his mixed fortunes in the Octagon of late Hunt remains at No.5 in the official rankings, one place behind his opponent Miocic who lost out to Dos Santos by decision in a hard-hitting ‘Fight Of The Night’ encounter in December.
That brought a halt to his three-fight winning streak and dented his own title aspirations for the time being, though with the division currently being in a turbulent state a win over Hunt could thrust him right back into the thick of things.
No other fights have so far been rumored for the event which will mark the UFC’s first ever visit to Adelaide.
