A welterweight fight between Demian Maia and Neil Magny has been added to the UFC 190 event in Brazil on August 1st.
Maia currently has back-to-back victories against Alexander Yakovlev and Ryan LaFlare to his name and is currently 5-2 overall since dropping down to the welterweight division in 201, leaving him ranked at No.6 in the weight class.
Meanwhile, Magny has one of the longest winning streaks in the UFC at this moment in time, racking up seven victores in a row, all in the space of just 16 months.
However, Magny hasn’t faced too many notable names thus far, instead defeating the likes of Hyun Gyu Lim, Kiichi Kunimoto and Tim Means, which is the reason that he’s still ranked just No.12 in the division heading into this fight.
It remains to be seen whether Maia Vs Magny will land a spot on the main card of the UFC 190 line-up as the event in Rio already has a fairly strong selection of fights, including the headlining woman’s bantamweight title bout pitting Ronda Rousey against Bethe Correia.
Add in the co-main event which sees Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua take on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, plus Antonio Rodrigio Nogueira Vs Stefan Struve, Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante Vs Patrick Cummins and Antonio Silva Vs Sao Palelei and you’ve got a card that looks to be well worth watching.
