With Derek Brunson forced to pull out due to a rib injury, Uriah Hall will now step in as a short notice replacement to take on Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Fight Night 69 in Germany on June 20th.
Hall is just a couple of weeks removed from a split decision loss to Rafael Natal at UFC 187. It was a disappointing performance from the former TUF finalist who’s had trouble living up to his potential during his UFC run to date, but had been on a three-fight winning streak in the middleweight division prior to that loss.
With that in mind he’ll be eager to make amends here against Polish fighter Jotko who’s 2-1 in the UFC so far and is coming off a decision win against Tor Troeng at UFC Fight Night 53 last year in Sweden. He had been hoping to fight earlier this year, but a broken hand meant that he’s now had an eight month layoff between bouts.
The fight between Hall and Jotko is currently slated to feature on the preliminary card of the event in Berlin which will be headlined by a woman’s strawweight title fight as Joanna Jedrzejczyk attempts to defend her title for the first time against Jessica Penne.
