Next weekend’s UFC Fight Night 69 event in Berlin, Germany will now be going ahead without a middleweight fight between Uriah Hall and Krzysztof Jotko as officials have confirmed it’s been pulled from card.
A former TUF finalist, Hall had been set to step in as a late replacement for Derek Brunson who pulled out just a few days ago due to an injury. It seemed like a good switch under the circumstances, but unfortunately it’s now emerged that Visa issues will prevent Hall from being able to compete.
Rather than attempt to find another opponent for Jotko on a week’s notice UFC officials have instead decided that the fight should just be scrapped altogether, leaving the Berlin line-up with 11 bouts in total.
It’s an unfortunate situation as UFC Fight Night 69 didn’t have the strongest line-up to begin with, so losing out on another recognised fighter like Hall without a suitable replacement weakens it even more.
The event, which airs on the UFC’s own ‘Fight Pass’ subscription service, is headlined by a strawweight title fight as Joanna Jędrzejczyk looks to defend her belt for the first time against Jessica Penne, while Germany’s own Dennis Siver fights Tatsuya Kawajiri in the co-main event of the evening.
