Neil Magny defeats Kelvin Gastelum by split decision (48-47 x2, 47-48)
Ricardo Lamas defeats Diego Sanchez by unanimous decision (30-27 x3)
Henry Cejudo defeats Jussier Formiga by split decision (30-27 x2, 28-29)
Erick Montano defeats Enrique Marin by split decision (29-28 x2, 28-29)
Neither man impressed here in a low-key TUF Latin America final that was eventually won by Montano who landed a crucial takedown late in the final round that may just have helped swing the split decision verdict in his favor.
Enrique Barzola defeats Horacio Gutierrez by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 30-26)
Gutierrez striking looked effective in the early stages of this fight, but then Barzola got his first takedown of the fight, and from then on he took the bout by the scruff of the neck with his wrestling and ground and pound. So, Barzola wins convincingly by unanimous decision and becomes the next TUF: Latin America winner.
Leandro Silva defeats Efrain Escudero by unanimous decision (29-28 x3)
Silva edged the first round with strikes, but Escudero adjusted in the second, getting takedowns and a long spell in control on top to leave everything to fight for in the final five minutes. It turned out to be Silva who seized control of the fight again, landing some nice punches and stuffing Escudero’s takedown attempts before getting him to the mat, taking his back and riding out in the final minutes of the fight from that dominant position to earn a unanimous decision win.
