First Trailer For UFC 200 (July 2016)

The UFC are getting in early with the promotional push for next July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event with the first trailer just released for the Las Vegas show.

At this stage no fights have been announced for the event which will be the focal point of their ‘International Fight Week’ celebrations, but there’s been plenty of speculation about who might be at the top of the bill.

It’s no secret that in an ideal world the UFC would love to deliver a knockout one-two punch with Conor McGregor either defending his featherweight title against Frankie Edgar or moving up a division to fight lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, while Ronda Rousey seeks revenge in a rematch with Holly Holm.

There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding those match-ups at this stage though, particularly with regards to Rousey as many are questioning if she will be ready to fight Holm by then as she’s still recovering from injuries sustained in her last fight with Holm, clearly has a lot of work to do in the gym to shore up holes in her gam that the new bantamweight champ exposed, and also has the small matter of two Hollywood movies to film in the first six months of 2016.

Meanwhile, McGregor has indicated that he wants to fight one more time before UFC 200, and with there being no easy fights for the Irish superstar at this stage there’d be a huge amount of risk attached to that plan of action.

Whatever happens, rest assured that the UFC will be trying to pull out all the stops to ensure that UFC 200 is a massive spectacle, just as they did back in 2009 for UFC 100 which saw both GSP and Brock Lesnar fighting on the same card, resulting in the current record of 1.6 million pay-per-view buys.
